How to Introduce an E-Collar to a Dog?

Sometimes a collar can be a bit of a fashion statement for your pet. But setting fashion aside, which style of collar is more functional and how to introduce it to your furry friend is the biggest question.

Before introducing you’re furry with an e-collar, train them with basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay, heel, here, no, and come when called. Because an e-collar is not a magic bullet, you must understand what it is.

The e-collar comes in after you have trained the behavior. Now it is time to polish and introduce the e-collar.

The next step is to let your dog wear it for an hour or two for several days without turning it on and get used to it. Before you ever turn it on, test the various stimulation levels on your hand or arm for your dog’s safety.

Next, you will fit the collar correctly on your dog because a proper fit is vital. The collar should fit high on the neck and be snug to ensure that the probes make contact with the skin.

What we do is set the e-collar on the lowest stimulation level. Once we figure out what level of stimulation they feel? We incorporate the e-collar with the commands.

When we want them to sit, we first tap the button and then give the verbal command to sit. What starts to happen is your dog will feel the e-collar stimulation. And follow the commands you are going to tell them to do. This is just what we want.

The e-collar is an incredible tool. Select the Best electric dog training collar for your pup because It can fine-tune a dog, extend your control, and even save your dog’s life.

What is the difference Between E-Collar and Shock Collar?

There is virtually no difference between an e-collar and vs. shock collar. The term e-collar is a euphemism for a shock collar.

However, there are fundamental differences; since the introduction of the shock collar in the 1960s, technology has changed. The devices are equally primitive. Just the word shock is enough to provoke powerful emotions in dog owners.

An e-collar is a shock collar. They are the same thing and are both remote training collars that emit static stimulation. They have different names and are called inversely by people.

In essence, an e-collar is similar to a shock collar. The terms are often used interchangeably, which creates confusion.

Benefits of Both E-Collar and Shock Collar for Dog

Benefits of e-collars:

You can conveniently reprimand your pooch’s unwanted behavior from several feet away.

  • Punishment doesn’t come from you:

After getting stimulation, it doesn’t know that punishment is directly coming from you. Therefore, it won’t hinder your bond.

  • Gives instant feedback:

Your pooch will get instant feedback which leads to thinking that this behavior is immoral and no longer doing it in the future.

  • Reduces Aggression:

E-collar helps to decrease aggressive behavior.

  • Doesn’t cost much:

E-collars are inexpensive. You can easily bear their maintenance cost.

  • Helps when voice commands aren’t an option:

The static stimulation, vibration, or beep is intended to depress and prevent bad behavior.

Benefits of shock collars:

The new generation of Best Dog Shock Collars offers several benefits over other standalone behavior modification methods:
